Google Photos: Now officially available for Android, iOS and web.

Google Photos is now officially launched ! Removed from Google+, the application is now available on Android and iOS.

Google Photos is the photo application by Google for use on Android or iOS smartphones as well as for desktops. The new service, which has "graduated" from Google+, now offers unlimited storage of photos up to 16 megapixels and video shot in 1080p. all  storage details, are available on Google help center.

Is Google Photos the same as Google Images ?

No, it's completely different. While Google Images allows you to search for images already published on the web, Google Photos stores your own photos for free with unlimited storage.

Originally, Google Photos was available via Google+. Today, it is no longer necessary to have an account on the social network Google+ to use the application.

The conquest of space is not new, today many satellites are present around the globe, some of them are specially made to take photos. Google and NASA have teamed up to let us follow the evolution of our planet over the last 30 years, a project that is called Timelapse.

Timelapse is an online tool that helps you discover the evolution of many cities like Las Vegas, Dubai or Colombia glacier that have been transformed because of climate and demographic change.

This timelapse from 1984 to 2012 captures the rapid growth of the world over the past three decades. Each frame of the timelapse map is constructed from a year of Landsat satellite data, constituting annual 1.7-terapixel snapshot of the Earth at 30-meter resolution.

Hyperlapse photography is an increasingly popular technique in which standard time-lapse imagery is brought to life with camera movement. Google has recently launched a new service that will allow you to travel at great speed on the roads of the world.

If you�ve ever wanted to visit the famous Road 66 in the United States, this site should definitely please you. Its operation is simple. You choose a place where you want to go, then you place two points A and  B on the map. Hyperlapse then generates a time-lapse video of the road. The sequence obtained is uses images captured by Google Street View, which are assembled as a time-lapse.

Google Helpouts: the new service for personal assistance

Google has officially launched a new service called Google Helpouts accessible to everyone. A product intended to allow the public to get personal assistance over live video from real persons on real time.

Google Helpouts was initially launched in private mode last August. Today, more than 1,000 experts are registered to share their expertise. Originally, eight categories are proposed: arts and music, cooking, fitness and nutrition, education and career, computer and electronics, home and garden, fashion and beauty, and finally health. This new service is available  as a market place where you can learn how to fix a computer, take music lessons, prepare a cake, and many other things.

Google Helpouts is a marketplace for advice. Each expert freely setting its rates, the payment is made after the session from Google Wallet only (for now) and Google receives a commission of 20% of the amount received by the expert.

But, if the user is not satisfied with the service provided, he can claim a refund of the amount paid. The assistance is 100% money back guaranteed by Google. Google always keep a copy of the video delivery to judge if the refund is legit.

Google has finally released its Chromebook Pixel which unlike all models launched so far (Acer, HP, Lenovo and Samsung) does not bear the signature of a manufacturer.

The Chromebook Pixel has a solid configuration: 12.8 inch touch screen with Gorilla glass, which claims the highest pixel density (239 pixels per inch) of all laptops on market, processor i5 dual Core 1.8 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 720p HD webcam, 32GB SSD (1TB of storage on Google drive available for 3 years), two USB ports, memory card reader, Bluetooth, WiFi, 4G/LTE and a battery offering 5 hours of �active use. �

Google Nose BETA the olfactory research functionality
